The brief

Square approached us with a vision to create a bespoke dock solution for the second-generation Square Reader. A product that would not only enhance the usability of the reader but also stay true to Square’s ethos of simplicity and aesthetic elegance. Working in close collaboration with Square’s product team, we set out on an extraordinary journey, a fusion of minds and ideas in the pursuit of a shared goal.

Our solution

And so, the Dock for Square Reader was born. This unique product embodies the shared design principles of Bosstab and Square, with features that champion usability and functionality. The dock’s design allows for a convenient angle, streamlining payments, and ensuring an effortless interaction for the user. Stability is a crucial aspect of its design, reflected in the dock’s sturdy silicone rubber base. This offers optimal stability, preventing any unnecessary movement during operation. Additionally, we understand the importance of uninterrupted operation in a fast-paced business environment. With this in mind, we ensured full access to power and charging ports, while also providing the option for a cable-free mobile solution.
