How to set up home automation on Galaxy Tab

Navigate to the Google Play Store on your Galaxy Tab.
Search for “SmartThings”.
Click on the app and hit "Install".

If you’re new to SmartThings, you’ll need to create an account. If you already have a Samsung account, simply sign in.

Ensure your Galaxy Tab is connected to your home's Wi-Fi network. This is the network your smart devices will likely connect to.

Inside the SmartThings app, you'll see a "+" or "Add" option. Tap on it.
Choose “Device”.
The app will display a list of compatible devices. Select the devices you want to add and follow the in-app instructions to pair each one. This might vary slightly from device to device, but the app is pretty intuitive, guiding you along the way.

For ease of use, group your devices by room. That way, you can control all devices in, say, your living room with a single tap.

Tap on the "Rooms" tab.
Click on the "+" or "Add" option.
Name the room and select the devices that belong in it.
Save your changes.

Play around with your newly connected devices from the app. Turn lights on and off, adjust thermostat settings, or view camera feeds. Get a feel for it.

This is where the magic happens! With automations, you can set up specific actions to occur based on certain conditions or triggers.

Tap on the “Automations” tab.
Select the "+" or "Add" option.
Decide on what triggers the action (like sunset) and what that action should be (like turning on the porch lights).
Save the automation.
