How To Setup Android Kiosk Mode

Android kiosk mode function has been employed in commercial, retail and hospitality settings serving the role as information kiosks, digital displays and mobile Points of Sale.

Step 1

1. Search for GoKiosk in your Android app store and download

2. Open the app once installed.

Step 2

Allow Permissions

1. For GoKiosk to work effectively, you will need to allow permissions on all requested settings.

2. Follow each prompt to allow access.

3. Under Allow Usage Access, press “Enable”.

4. Adjust your settings to allow usage tracking.

5. Select enable under Permit Drawing Over Other Apps.

6. Adjust your setting to allow permission.

7. GoKiosk also gives you the option to link to Samsung KNOX for a more secure mobile device management system if you wish so.

8. Select enable under Install From Unknown Source.

9. Adjust your setting to allow permission.

10. Back in the GoKiosk settings menu, select Complete Setup.

Step 3

Set up GoKiosk as the Default Home Screen

1. Once you have pressed Complete Setup, you will be prompted to set GoKiosk as the default home screen. Select “Ok, got it!” on the instructions page.

2. Select GoKiosk and set as “Always”. This will send you to the GoKiosk home screen whenever you press the home button on your tablet.

Step 4

Access Settings

1. To change your GoKiosk settings, tap on the screen five times to access the login screen.

2. Enter your default password and select “Go to admin settings”.

3. To select your desired application for kiosk mode, select Allowed Applications.

4. Press on the plus button on the bottom right-hand corner.

5. Select your desired app and press add. In this example, we will be using Square.

6. GoKiosh also includes additional options on the right to either launch at startup, or hide on home screen if you wish.

7. Once you have added your desired app, go back to the GoKiosk homescreen and select the app to launch.

Step 5

Exit GoKiosk

1. To exit out of GoKiosk, press your home or back button to navigate back to the kiosk home screen. Log in to settings by tapping on the screen five times.
