The Brief

As a sought-after dining venue, Stokehouse is a busy restaurant and bar with a focus on exceptional hospitality.

Staff are renowned for their warm professionalism and the dining experience is widely regarded as one of the best in Melbourne.

Bosstab was tasked with providing iPad stands to cater to staff using the Point of Sale. The solution needed to accommodate both the busy hospitality environment, while also complementing Stokehouse’s stunning interior.

Our solution

Functionality and aesthetics were both front of mind when it came to creating the ideal solution for Stokehouse’s requirements.

In a busy hospitality environment, the stand needed to be durable and sturdy, yet the aim was to provide a minimalist look that allowed patrons to take in the picturesque surrounds and sublime restaurant fitout.

To accommodate both these needs, we opted to use the Touch tablet stand coupled with an Evo freestanding base.

The Touch is free of clamps, suits all models of iPad and Android tablets and allowed the venue to secure their iPads using a choice of two different strong 3M adhesives.

The Evo stand then offered the perfect height for staff to use devices at the Point of Sale.

Together, the look was seamless, fitting in beautifully with the restaurant’s beach feel and ambience.

The Result

Stokehouse has noted the solution offered just the look and functionality they were after. Describing the Touch Evo as a ‘nice, portable and clean system’, they say the added height is most welcome and the stand offers a durable well-built solution for Point of Sale.

As a result, they are also considering further Touch Evo stands to be used at their additional hospitality location, Pontoon in St Kilda.

The Takeaway

Aesthetic appeal and functionality can go hand in hand when it comes to tablet stands that suit a busy high-end hospitality environment.

Bosstab was thrilled to work with a venue of Stokehouse’s calibre to find the right Point of Sale stand solution to suit their needs, and we are looking forward to working with them further in the future.

In the meantime, we’d highly recommend you pay a visit in person should the opportunity arise. Stokehouse is quite rightly regarded as one of the best restaurants in Melbourne, with its views, amazing fitout and sensational menu all ensuring it should be a dining occasion on everyone’s must-do list.

5 Handy iPad Stands

December 31, 2018
If you've ever walked into the Apple store, anywhere in the world, you'll notice one very remarkable thing: It's always packed. Part of the appeal, of course, are the products: Apple products are coveted. But part of the attraction is the customer or user's experience. Apple stores are strategically set up in a way that not only invites the customer in but encourages them to use the products that are set up on the tables — including tablets, smartphones, laptops and more. In brick-and-mortar stores, in fact, there is an awareness by retail brands that part of the customer experience is bringing the digital, "do it yourself" ethic into the shopping process. This means that customers should be able to access digital technology such as iPads, tablets and even smartphones when gaining discounts using QR codes, ordering new items or learning about the specs of a product before purchasing. In other words, the set up of digital interfaces in physical stores matters to the customer experience. And to facilitate this integration, here are 10 of the best iPad and tablet holders that enhance the customer's in-store experience in the age of e-commerce.
