Hobsons Bay Hotel
The brief
Overlooking Port Philip Bay in Melbourne, the Hobsons Bay Hotel is a premium example of a modernized Australian pub.
Spanning three beautifully fitted-out levels, it is a multi-entertainment venue that includes a public bar, restaurant, private dining, catering, events, and a stunning rooftop bar, complete with water views.
The chic and upmarket ambiance of the hotel makes it an ideal venue for a quick drink after work, a catch-up with friends, romantic dinners, exclusive parties, and events like product launches.
In fact, it’s pretty much a pub for every occasion, which happens to be overseen by some big names in the Australian hospitality industry.
Steering the ship is Rustica Sourdough’s Brenton Lang as co-owner. At the same time, Ben Pigott oversees the food, using his extensive experience at Cumulus Inc, Supernormal, Stokehouse and Fatto to take the standard pub brief to a whole new level.
In a busy hospitality venue with multiple bars and dining spaces, efficiency is vital.
Bosstab was tasked with providing a durable and aesthetically appealing series of tablet enclosures and stands suited to the look and operation of the bar and dining spaces.
The main aim was convenience, allowing staff to take and enter orders at their allocated section efficiently.
Security and durability were also significant considerations in such a bustling commercial environment.
The stands needed to be robust yet appealing while handling the fast pace of a highly successful hospitality venue.
Our solution
Our solution encompassed two tablet enclosures and stand options.
We opted for the Elite tablet case coupled with the Evo X countertop stand in the bar area. The Elite tablet case caters to iPad 10.2-inch models and is lockable, making it highly durable and secure.
Meanwhile, the Evo X stand can be mounted to the counter or offers a freestanding base and allows the device to be tilted to the right angle. It can also swivel between portrait and landscape mode.
In the dining areas, we opted for the Elite tablet case, but this time coupled it with the Nexus stand.
The Nexus stand allows a device to swivel 180 degrees and comes with mounting options, including a freestanding base, screw mount, adhesive mount, or a heavy-duty freestanding base.

The Hobsons Bay Hotel notes their tablet stands are an essential element of their hospitality environment, allowing staff to effortlessly provide attentive, prompt and efficient service in a venue renowned for its food, service and stunning atmosphere.
